Job Description

You will be part of a friendly and high-performing team, working closely with and supported by other Modern Foreign Language Product Managers and team members, to understand customer and learner needs and create great resources and assessments for our Modern Languages portfolio.

You will carry out research with teachers and students, creating proposals for new products and services that meet the needs of Modern Foreign Language teachers and learners. The immediate focus of the role will be on how we support teachers with compelling assessment solutions that help them track and report on progress at KS4 and identify gaps in students’ understanding.

You’ll work with a mix of internal and external people from different teams to bring those proposals to reality and ensure our products and services are launched on time, to budget and to the highest levels of quality.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Carrying out market research with teachers and students to understand customer needs
  • Translating these customer needs into winning product and service proposals
  • Building and seeking approval of business cases for new products
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the field of Modern Languages
  • Finding, commissioning and working with key authors and internal and external teams to ensure timely launch of products and services
  • Developing Modern Foreign Language content - whether it is print or digital - that really works in the classroom, and testing that content with teachers and students
  • Checking content against quality and accessibility standards and our Global Content and Editorial (DE&I) Policy .
  • Liaising closely with our Sales and Marketing teams to devise winning campaigns and monitor the effectiveness of those campaigns
  • Managing budgets for your projects, ensuring tight cost control.

Requirements

  • educated to degree level (or equivalent) and fluent in one or more of French, German or Spanish and ideally with receptive knowledge of all three languages.

  • someone with an interest in assessment and the use of digital insights to support pupil progression
  • enjoys working with a close team to develop exciting new resources but equally willing to take responsibility and lead in their area of responsibility
