The Financial Accountant is ultimately responsible for the final Trial Balances for France and Italy. This person will be responsible monthly management of accounts within the region, monthly reporting/tax compliance and yearly audits amongst other responsibilities.

Monthly management accounts under US-GAAP

• Accruals/prepayments journals as necessary
• Liaison with all members of the Shared Services Centre in the UK who will have input into those numbers to ensure accuracy and understanding
  • Management reporting to corporate deadlines incl. production of notes/commentaries
• Full understanding and monthly reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts to ensure accurate recording incl. payroll related accounts (commission, bonus, shares, ESPP and associated taxes)
• Ensure compliance with ASC842 Lease accounting standard incl. reconciliation to corporate model
• Prepare/review vacation accruals monthly

Monthly local reporting/tax compliance

• Ensure all VAT returns are prepared and submitted in a timely manner
• Work with Tax Manager to ensure VAT compliance
• Prepare and submit any additional local statistical filing
• Assist our local French accounting partner in preparing the FEC (Fichier des Ecritures Comptables = full mapping US to FR GAAP)

Yearly audit under US and local GAAP

• Timely completion of annual audit and tax calculations working in conjunction with local advisors and corporate auditors
• Ensuring legal compliance with respect to filings and statutory reports
• Assist our local French accounting partner in preparing the FEC (Fichier des Ecritures Comptables = full mapping US to FR GAAP)

Other

• Perform Sox controls e.g. reviewing and approving of monthly Payroll
• Supplier payment review and sign-off
• Production of monthly cash flow forecast
• Liaise with payroll department and local payroll bureau to ensure timely and accurate reporting incl. payroll journal, payroll reports (e.g. gross to net report), payroll reconciliation, vacation accrual reporting and payroll cash flow forecast.
• Assist with the production of the quarterly and yearly tax package
• Assist Tax Manager co-ordinate & manage tax audits

• Qualified by experience or through studies
