The Senior Curriculum Developer/Training and Instruction Specialist is responsible for running Projects to design, develop, and maintain curriculum for all NetSuite training courses as well as integrating new product releases and instructor feedback into existing courseware.
The Senior Curriculum Developer/Training and Instruction Specialist has a strategic role in driving teams in designing and developing new courses to meet the needs of NetSuite customers, partners and employees. Developed curriculum will support instructor-led classroom training, instructor-led virtual training, and self-paced e-learning, and must deliver on-time, on-budget to coincide with Software release and launch in strategic Global Regions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Projects, coordinating Global Teams to produce courses both for Classroom and eLearning to support NetSuite customers, partners and employees.
- Design, develop, and maintain course materials for all audiences including customers, partners, and employees.
- Manage Risk and milestones throughout Project lifecycle for each course and country to meet tight deadlines.
- Create training documentation including instructor presentations, conceptual framework for eLearning development, audio scripts for e-learning, instructor and student guides, quick reference materials, and hands-on exercises.
- Record system demonstrations and provide voice over narration for eLearning courses.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop course specifications and gather course content.
- Team with subject matter experts to gather best practices and incorporate expertise into learning objectives and user scenarios.
- Ensure course content addresses the needs of NetSuite users and NetSuite corporate initiatives.
- Deliver knowledge transfers of updated and new courses to ensure instructors can effectively teach the material.
Desired Experience:
- 3 – 7 years’ experience in managing projects to support software releases.
- 2 – 3 years’ experience in instructional design and curriculum development some of which could be substituted for training delivery experience.
- Experience in project and training delivery or technical writing can be substituted for instructional design and curriculum development background.
- Outstanding verbal and written German language skills (native speaker).
- Outstanding verbal and written English-language skills.
- Solid experience with developing course materials, learning objectives, training aids, and step-by-step instructions.
- Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Cisco WebEx or other virtual learning tools.
- Ability to analyze project deliverables and risk
- Ability to meet deadlines and understand training needs and present effective educational solutions.
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple, on-going projects
- Knowledge of audience-engagement techniques for different learning styles a plus.
- Knowledge of standard accounting principles and financial reporting a plus.
- Experience using Adobe Captivate and other curriculum development or multi-media tools a plus.
- Experience doing German voice-over a plus.
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Develops courseware to support new and existing products, often though not exclusively in conjunction with Product Division.
Coordinate and evaluate development contributions from other courseware development team members. Develop certification questions for use in the Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) exams. Solicit & incorporate feedback from reviews and training events. Deliver training at train-the-trainer and pilot events.
Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. May have project lead role. Bachelor*s Degree in Computer Science or Instructional Design. Four years adult education experience (as teacher or curriculum developer). Seven years technical or professional experience using Oracle products or related software. Strong SQL and PL/SQL knowledge and experience. Knowledge of XML, Java, and J2EE technologies. Experience with Oracle9i Database administration. Knowledge of Oracle9i Application server.
